1. Which all entities can be declined through a rule?
Risks, Coverages, Forms, Endorsements, Schedules.
2. Can an optional entity be transformed to as mandatory or vice versa through a rule?
Yes, an optional Coverages, Forms, Endorsements, Schedules can be mandated using a rule.
3. What rules can I write for the entities marked as not offered?
No, rules cannot be written for entities that are marked as not offered or inactive.
4. How do I add a rule User can add a rule as a change?
The change type must be marked as the type of rule the user wants to add. Example: offer decline rule, co requisite rule.
5. Can I delete a rule that is added to a work space?
By clicking on the delete button next to the change under the list of changes.
6. What happens if add a rule whose name definition matches with the ones that already exist?
System should throw me an error saying that the definition of the rule already exists, i.e., the definition of the change already exists
7. What happens if I create a rule with same name that is there in a plan but with different definition (no of input columns)?
The system overrides the rule in the plan version it is applied in.
8. What can be modified in rule during an update?
Display name, decision drivers, rule data.
9. How many decision drivers can I add for a rule?
You can add as many rules as the requirement demands.
10. Can I add a rule with both 'and' , 'or' operators in decision drivers?
No, there cannot be both and or operators in the rules.
11. How many data rows can a rule have?
You can add as many rules as the requirement demands.
12. Can I import rules (definition and data) through Excel?
Import of rule definition and data is not supported using Excel.
13. How many rules can I import using Excel?
There is not restriction of how many rule data rows can be imported. Import performance depends on infrastructure and the load on the system.
14. What happens if the Excel imported has the existing data rows?
System overrides the rule if the column data matches.
15. Can I import more than one rule?
No, importing of more than one rule is not supported.
16. What should be order of decision drivers in terms of the product structure?
It should follow sequence of business data capture.
Example: If a rating class of a property is derived based on state and zip code. Then state must be first in the sequence then followed by zip code and rating class."
17. What happens if the datatype of the input column does not match with attribute it is mapped to?
System must throw me an exception saying that the datatype does not match.
18. Can I write same rule in builder and decision table pattern?
No same rule cannot be written in both decision table and free flow builder.
19. What happens if I define different type of actions for the same condition in different rules for the same entity?
It leads to contradiction of rules. Contradictory rules should not be written as they fail at run time.
20. How does co-requisite rule work?
Co-requisite rule makes enables a form/coverage/endorsement for your selection when a particular form/coverage/endorsement is selected.
21. How does mutually exclusive rule work?
Mutually exclusive rule restricts you from selecting a form/coverage/endorsement for your selection when a particular form/coverage/endorsement is selected.
22. Can I show or hide an attribute through a rule?
Invalidating an attribute is not supported.
23. What is the significance of action entity type while creating rule?
It signifies the entity on which you intend to write a rule.
24. Can I derive the value of an attribute based on the value of other attribute using rule?
Yes, using Derivation rule.
25. Can I write a rule on an entity based on existence of one or more other entities?
Yes, while adding decision drivers select entity as an option in the very column. Which allows you to write a rule with an existence of an entity.
26. What sequence these rules get executed?
Rules follow the product structure and it's hierarchy while execution.
27. How can I set a coverage to be seasonal or fully earned using a rule?
Yes, indicator rules can be used to make a coverage/form/endorsement seasonal.
